Dr. Joshua Goodwin, MD, FAAPMR
Dr. Joshua Goodwin is a board-certified physician in physical medicine and rehabilitation, specializing in Sports and Interventional Spine Medicine at OrthoAdvanced & Spine.
His personal journey through sports injuries in high school football and baseball ignited his passion for sports medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Goodwin earned his MD from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 2010. He completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency in 2014 at the University of Texas Health Science Center, followed by a Sports Medicine and Interventional Spine Medicine fellowship in 2015 at Southwest Spine and Sports in Scottsdale, Arizona. During his fellowship, he was actively involved in research on bone marrow concentrate for low back pain and disc degeneration, also co-authoring a review article on regenerative treatments for these conditions.
As a lead physician at OrthoAdvanced & Spine, Dr. Goodwin is proficient in both ultrasound and fluoroscopic-guided procedures. He is dedicated to using innovative techniques to facilitate tissue healing, enhance function, and help patients avoid surgery. His patient-centered approach involves identifying the root structural or biomechanical cause of pain, then collaborating closely with each patient to determine the best treatment and prevention strategies.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Goodwin enjoys an active lifestyle, including hiking, various sports, and working out. He also cherishes time with his family and traveling.
